PDF Text Editor help

A typo in a PDF you cannot regenerate. This finds the text lines in the page, lets you retype one, erases the old words, and draws the new ones in the same place using the same font where it can.

Steps

1. Open a PDF, or drop it on the page.
2. Click a highlighted line. An editor opens with its text, size, colour, and box.
3. Change the text. Pick what happens if it no longer fits: keep the box and use nearby free space, shrink the text, or wrap it onto more lines.
4. Nudge the selection box with the Move and Resize handles, or the X, Y, width, and height fields, if the detected box is off.
5. Apply. Use Show original, Highlight changes, and Undo to check the result, then Save PDF.

Fonts

The editor reuses the line's embedded font when that font is in the file and covers the new characters. If not, it falls back to a matching standard font (Helvetica, Times, or Courier), then to a bundled Roboto. The status line names which font each change used.

Limits

• It edits existing text runs. It does not add new paragraphs, move images, or change layout beyond the line you pick.
• Scanned pages have no text layer, so nothing is selectable. Those need OCR first.
• Vertical text and some subset-encoded fonts cannot be re-encoded and are left as they are.
• The old text is covered with a white rectangle. On a coloured or textured background the patch can show.

The PDF is opened, edited, and saved in your browser with pdf.js and pdf-lib. It is never uploaded.
