Semver Calculator help

Semver Calculator works with Semantic Versioning 2.0.0. It parses a version into its parts, compares two versions by precedence, bumps a version, and checks whether a version satisfies a range.

Steps

  1. Enter one or two versions.
  2. Read the parsed parts and the comparison result.
  3. Try a range like ^1.2.0 to see whether the version satisfies it.

Common questions

How does prerelease precedence work?

A version with a prerelease tag is lower than the same version without one, and prerelease identifiers are compared piece by piece, numbers below text.

Which ranges are supported?

Caret, tilde, x-ranges such as 1.x, hyphen ranges such as 1.2.0 - 1.6.0, plain comparators such as >=1.2.3 <2.0.0, and alternatives joined with ||.

Is this exactly node-semver?

It follows the same rules for the common cases but is a smaller implementation. Check unusual ranges against the real tool.

Does anything leave my browser?

No. The tool runs entirely on this page.

Everything runs in your browser. Nothing you enter or drop is uploaded.
