Regex Tester help

Build a regex against real text and watch the matches, groups, and a replacement update live.

Steps

1. Type the pattern between the slashes and toggle the flags you need.
2. Paste test text. Matches are highlighted and listed below with their position.
3. Each match shows its numbered groups ($1, $2) and any named groups ($<name>).
4. Type a replacement to see the result; $1 and $<name> references work.

Flags

g global, i ignore case, m makes ^ and $ match line boundaries, s makes . match newlines, u unicode, y sticky.

Notes

• It uses the browser's own JavaScript regex engine, so the syntax is ECMAScript, not PCRE.
• Your pattern and text are saved in your own browser and nothing is uploaded.
