About PDF Workbench

PDF Workbench does the page-level jobs: combine several PDFs into one, pull a range out into its own file, turn pages that were scanned sideways, and drag pages into a new order. It also shows the document metadata, the author, the producer, the creation date, and lets you clear it.

The PDF is opened with the browser File API and rewritten on your machine. Nothing is uploaded, and the output has no watermark.

How to use it

  1. Drop one or more PDFs onto the page.
  2. Drag the page thumbnails to reorder them. Select a page to rotate or delete it.
  3. To merge, add every file you want and arrange the pages in one sequence.
  4. To split, select a page range and send it to a new document.
  5. Open the metadata panel to read or strip the author, producer, and dates.
  6. Save. The new PDF is built in the page and downloads from your machine.

Common questions

Is there a page limit or a watermark?

No limit beyond your device memory, and no watermark. The output is a plain PDF.

Does merging keep bookmarks and form fields?

Page content, text, and images are kept. Interactive form fields and the outline tree may not survive a merge; check the result if your source has them.

Can it reduce the file size?

Stripping metadata and dropping pages helps a little. Heavy image compression is the job of Image Squeeze, not this tool.

Are my documents sent to a server?

No. The file never leaves the tab. Close it and nothing is retained.
